The Odisha government has approved proposals from Grew Energy, Jupiter Renewables, Jakson Engineers and Saatvik Solar to set up solar cell and module manufacturing facilities in the state. It also greenlighted two energy storage proposals from TACC Ltd. and Odisha Hydro Power Corporation.

The Odisha government recently approved proposals by four companies to set up solar module manufacturing facilities in the state. It also approved proposals to set up a pumped hydro storage plant and Lithium-ion battery-grade synthetic graphite anodes plant. Together, these projects will bring in investments worth INR 14,489.78 crore.
The approvals, granted during the second high-level clearance authority meeting, are part of a broader initiative to clear projects worth INR 1.36 lakh crore across various sectors including steel, chemicals, aluminium, aviation fuel, green energy and equipment, apparel and textiles, power and renewable energy and cement.
Kolkata-based Jupiter Renewables proposed to invest INR 2,005 crore to set up a 4 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Khurdha using TOPCon technology. The plant is expected to be commissioned by Q4 FY 2025-26.
Gurugram-based Saatvik Solar Industries has received approvals for an INR 1,366.56 crore 2.5 GW/annum solar cell manufacturing unit in Khurdha.
Delhi-based Jakson Engineers will invest INR 1,354.40 crore to set up a 2.25 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility in Khurdha. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2027.
Ahmedabad-based Grew Energy proposed to invest INR 4,530.34 crore to establish an ingot wafer, solar cell, and module manufacturing project in Ganjam, Odisha.
TACC Ltd., LNJ Bhilwara group company, has received approvals to build a manufacturing unit for Lithium-ion battery-grade synthetic graphite anodes with an investment of about INR 1,850 crore.
Additionally, the Odisha government has also approved a proposal from Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) to set up a 600 MW pumped hydro storage project with an investment of INR 3,394.48 crore in Kalahandi.
These projects aim to position Odisha as a leader in renewable energy and contribute to India’s clean energy goals.
