A devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning at the Wazirabad Training Center’s storage facility in Khajuri area of Delhi, destroying between 300-350 vehicles.
The Fire Department received an alert about the incident at 4:32 AM, prompting an immediate dispatch of fire engines to the scene. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within two hours, by approximately 6:30 AM, though cooling operations are still ongoing.
“The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time,” said a fire department official. “Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident.”
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of damages caused by the fire.
Recent Fire Incidents in the Region
This incident follows another fire that occurred Saturday night (April 5) in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, where a high-tension electricity wire fell on the Hayat Nagar police station, resulting in several vehicles being destroyed. Fire brigades arrived at the scene and successfully contained the fire.
Just days earlier, on Thursday evening (April 3), an illegal jeans manufacturing factory in East Delhi’s Jafrabad area caught fire. The factory was operating on the ground floor of a four-story building. While approximately 10 people from the factory and upper floors managed to escape, one worker was trapped inside due to heavy smoke and tragically lost his life in the blaze.
