At the ‘Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum’ held in New Delhi on Friday, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, emphasized the importance of India in ensuring stability in the Indo-Pacific region, a key factor for bolstering trade.</p> <p>Highlighting India’s vast economic potential, Tajani described the two nations as “natural economic partners” and expressed a desire to strengthen collaboration in higher education, innovation, and research. He noted that bilateral trade has surpassed $14 billion, with aspirations to increase investments and exports between the countries.</p> <p>Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal underscored the opportunity to expand bilateral trade by removing barriers and promoting seamless business interactions. He projected India’s economy to grow from $4 trillion to $30–35 trillion by 2047, positioning the country as a compelling partner for the European Union, particularly Italy.</p> <p>Goyal identified untapped sectors ripe for collaboration, including fashion, luxury goods, food processing, pharmaceuticals, tourism, green technology, advanced manufacturing, and automobiles. He also highlighted the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–29, launched by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Giorgia Meloni in November 2024, as a pragmatic roadmap focusing on trade, investment, and innovation.</p> <p>Union Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, remarked that the synergy between India’s developmental trajectory and Italian industrial capabilities presents a promising avenue for collaboration, with the ‘Make in India’ initiative serving as a conducive platform for joint ventures.</p> <p>The forum served as a pivotal platform for both nations to explore partnerships in key areas such as artificial intelligence, supercomputing, space technology, and defense, aiming to attract mutual investments and foster technological advancements.</p> <p> </p> <div aria-label=
