WAUKESHA — Thursday was a big day for Waukesha-based Husco, as it announced $200 million in newly awarded projects, $55 million in new capital investments and an estimated 250 new hires, all while hosting a national Association of Equipment Manufacturers bus tour.
The AEM Manufacturing Express Bus Tour stopped at Husco’s headquarters in Waukesha to highlight the importance of manufacturing to the national economy. The company said in a statement that about half of the new capital investments and new employment will go to Husco’s U.S. facilities, with the other half spread across Husco’s international locations.
“It is an honor for all of us at Husco to host AEM’s Manufacturing Express Bus Tour, giving us a chance to highlight why American manufacturing matters so much,” said Austin Ramirez, President and CEO of Husco and a member of the AEM’s board of directors. “While our industry is constantly evolving, one thing has not changed: Manufacturing is critical to the success of our region, our state and our country. Having a strong manufacturing base benefits our economy and workforce. It makes our nation more resilient in an unpredictable international environment. And Husco is proud to be a part of that.”
The new projects include contracts with several manufacturers for components in engines and for braking in autos, off-road vehicles and construction equipment, the company said, declining to name the manufacturers.
Husco made the announcement as the AEM bus tour to visit the company’s headquarters in Waukesha was nearing its conclusion after covering 20 states and more than 80 equipment manufacturers’ facilities in the Midwest, South, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes.
Husco has 1,500 global employees, based in Waukesha with facilities in Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, England, China, India, Brazil and Germany. The company set a record in 2023 with nearly $550 million in sales. The company also was recently celebrated as 2023’s largest corporate charitable contributor in Wisconsin.
